About Dr. Shinah Quinn Russell

Hello! I am Dr. Shinah Quinn Russell, the Founder and Director of Beginning Anew Counseling and Consulting.  I have many years of experience as a therapist, a professional school counselor, teacher and a consultant. 

I specialize in working with children, adolescents, young adults, women, and families.  My expertise is in the areas of anxiety, depression, life transitions, coping skills, marital and premarital, school issues, spirituality, stress, and women’s issues. Using an integrated approach I support clients in a non-judgmental environment allowing the exploration of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, while developing solutions to live one’s best live.

I serve on the Board of Directors for several non-profit organizations and I’m an active member in my community. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, watching HGTV, Family Feud, and helping others. 

Education and Experience

My education and training consist of a Doctorate of Education degree in Counselor Education and Supervision from Argosy University (2016), Masters of Education in Counselor Education from Florida A&M University (2004), and a Bachelor of Science in Business Education from Florida A&M University (2002). 

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Certified Counselor (NCC), Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS), Certified Professional School Counselor P-12, and a Certified Business Education Teacher (6-12).
